With this question in mind, the 5th National Experts Conference for Telemedicine will gather at the Ellington hotel in Berlin on the 06th and 07th November 2014. The organisers of the event expect more than 250 national and international experts to attend. The Karl Storz Prize for Telemedicine established in 2008 will be awarded at the conference. Other topics under discussion are concerns about differences in the levels of care for patients and the overall threat to the German health care service. Many questions will be posed to the assembled conference including: Should telemedicine be established in all regions as an effective method to ensure consistent nationwide patient care? Is the structure of the German health services equipped to confront the challenges of the Internet age against the backdrop of demographic development and faster innovation cycles? A lively debate and insightful responses are expected, to the posed questions, at the 5th National Experts Conference. Applications for the Karl Storz Telemedicine Prize can be submitted up until the 25th October 2014. The congress will be accompanied by an exhibition of leading industries operating in the field of telemedicine.
